On your Mac

There’s no doubt in you could entirely run the operating system specifically Catalina. Install macOS Catalina on VMware on Windows PC. In order to install, you’ll certainly need the macOS Catalina image. But that doesn’t mean downloading macOS Catalina from the Apple beta program or from App Store when it’s released. September 24, 2020: Apple releases macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Apple has released macOS Catalina 10.15.7, a minor update that fixes a few bugs in macOS, including an issue with automatic Wi-Fi connections, one that could prevent files from syncing with iCloud Drive, and a graphics problem with the Radeon Pro 5700 XT in the most recent 27-inch iMacs. Nearly perfect I have a specific usage case - I work in a multiplatform environment in which I work on the Mac and on the PC. I don't want to keep changing physical keyboards, so despite the fact that the two physical machines are next to eachother beneath my desk, I use remote desktop to view and operate the PC while working on the Mac.

If you update your Mac to macOS Catalina or later, you can access your iTunes media library in the Apple Music app, Apple TV app, Apple Books app, and Apple Podcasts app. To manually back up, restore, or sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, use Finder.

If you can’t update to the latest version of macOS

You can update to the latest version of iTunes (up to iTunes 12.8).

  1. Open the App Store on your Mac.
  2. Click Updates at the top of the App Store window.
  3. If any iTunes updates are available, click Install.

On your PC

If you don't have iTunes installed on your computer, download iTunes from the Microsoft Store (Windows 10). You can also download the latest version of iTunes from Apple's website.

Depending on the version of iTunes that you have, here are a few ways to update.

If you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store

Versions of iTunes from the Microsoft Store update automatically when new versions are released.

You can also check for updates through the Microsoft Store.

If you downloaded iTunes from Apple's website

Apple Catalina Install Problems

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help > Check for Updates.
  3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

If Check for Updates isn't an option in the Help menu, then you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store.

  • An internet connection to use Apple Music, the iTunes Store and iTunes Extras
  • An Apple combo drive or SuperDrive to create audio, MP3 or backup CDs; some non-Apple CD-RW recorders may also work. Songs from the Apple Music catalogue cannot be burned to a CD

  • OS X version 10.10.5 or later
  • 400MB of available disk space
